Colin Firth is my favorite actor. He is just a little known in germany since he played the role of Mark Darcy in "Bridget Jones Diary" ("Schokolade zum Frühstück")
The sequel  inclines unfortunately more to slapstic and can't reach the first part by far. But to swoon over Colin it is good enough ;-)

Since the broadcasting of  Pride & Prejudice" 1994 in great britain he's literally named as THE heart-throb. Almost every woman in UK saw it and since then fell for Mr. Darcy (the character he played). There was a "Darcymania".
On german TV P&P was also broadcasted but with much less impact than in UK (as often the dubbing was very likely the reason)

My predilection started with the DVD of  "Bridget Jones's Diary" after i had already read the books. There i heard for the first time of the "darcymania" and that  Helen Fielding, the author of BJD was one of the women who fell in love with Mr. Darcy from P&P. She created her Mark Darcy in her novels "Bridget Jones Diary" ("Bridget Jones - Schokolade zum Frühstück") and "Bridget Jones - On The Egde Of Reason" ("Bridget Jones - Am Rande des Wahnsinns") after the famous Mr. Darcy in P&P
Much to her pleasure (and to ours of course) Colin Firth, who already played Mr. Darcy in P&P, accepted the offer to play a Darcy again.

Well then i had to buy P&P on DVD. And after one night watching this BBC-series i "mutated" into a Colin Firth-lunatic

 

Indeed: like any other webmistresses I put a lot of work in the things that you see here. But in contrast to some other sites I absolutely don't mind if you'd like to copy things from my website to your fangroup as long as you mention this site as the source. I'm happy if more  Colin-fans are able to share this obsession with me :-)
